I'm on my laptop in the middle of the pasture.                He does chores with me and chases off predators.

I added some chickens back to the Farm. I picked them up at the county fair. I knew a little about the breed and knew that they laid chocolate eggs. OK, chocolate colored eggs. I found them on Craig's List with no picture so I was pleased when I got there to see the roosters colors. He looks like a Bard Rock but actually has prettier markings. Today as I began my research on the breed I discovered the breed is from France.

Maybe that is what I need to do. Create a little French farm in the middle of the Applegate Valley. I have actually been working on French Country decor in the house.

FRENCH MARANS - Famed for their dark chocolate eggs, the Marans originate from France.

Our Cuckoo Marans, getting beet scraps. This breed, originated in western France in the town of Marans.
